Yeast Cleanse—For Yeast Overgrowth

Yeast overgrowth occurs when a specific type of yeast, Candida albicans, grows out of proportion to the beneficial microorganisms in the body and begins to impact overall health. Candida is always naturally present in small amounts throughout the skin, genital area, and digestive tract, although larger amounts of this yeast signal that it may be time for a yeast cleanse to help restore the body to health.ǂ

Signs of Yeast Overgrowth

As Candida is a sugar-fermenting yeast, some of these overgrowth signs are obvious. Other signs of a yeast imbalance are more subtle and less obviously attributed to an overgrowth of Candida.

Localized yeast overgrowth symptoms (in the digestive, urogenital, and skin systems):

  • White spots on tongue and in the mouth
  • Bladder and kidney infections
  • Recurrent vaginal yeast infections
  • Intestinal gas and bloating
  • Acne and rashes
  • Food allergies/sensitivities

Systemic (and less obvious) symptoms:

  • Brain fog
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Food cravings, especially for carbs and sweets
  • Muscle aches and arthritis
  • Suppressed immunity
  • Sinus issues
  • Insomnia

The main reason for such a wide variety of symptoms is that Candida releases toxic byproducts as it reproduces. These toxins affect almost every area of the body and can run rampant for months, even years, until a Candida overgrowth is pinpointed as the culprit. Many health conditions are linked to and exacerbated by Candida overgrowth, and because Candida is a parasite it can actually cause us to crave the very substances that feed it.

Causes of Yeast Overgrowth

It’s important to note that a natural yeast cleanse will only be minimally helpful if certain dietary guidelines are not followed along with the cleanse. These guidelines include eliminating sugar, honey, fruit and fruit juice, fructose, molasses, maple syrup, corn syrup, and artificial sweeteners. Also eliminate all grains during the first two weeks, mushrooms and cheese, all dairy except for a little butter and unsweetened yogurt/kefir, alcohol, vinegars, smoked/dried meat, dry roasted nuts, and all peanuts.

A cleansing diet should contain plenty of non-starchy veggies, lean meats, filtered water, sprouted beans, plus gluten-free grains after the first two weeks. This diet is an excellent overall digestive cleanse as well.

A yeast cleanse targets the intestines, the primary origin of yeast overgrowth, to cause a ripple effect of yeast die-off throughout the body. A two-part capsule and tincture cleanse is recommended to address yeast in graduated stages through different delivery systems. Your yeast cleanse should contain:

  • Anti-fungal herb, botanical, and spice extractsǂ
  • Anti-microbial extracts that help cleanse yeast and yeast toxinsǂ
  • Digestive support herbs, roots, and fruit extracts such as orange peel that help to rebalance intestinal lining mucus production, minimize Candida growth, and reduce inflammationǂ

Expect some signs of Candida die-off during your cleanse/diet. The die-off is a good thing and a sign that your efforts are paying off. You may find that original symptoms such as headaches and muscle aches, fatigue, and brain fog continue for a short time.

A Yeast Cleanse for Men
Men also suffer from yeast overgrowth, and a cleanse is just as helpful for men as for women. The most common signs of overgrowth in men are skin rashes in the genital area or feet and penile rashes/discharge, as well as the systemic signs listed above. Sweet cravings, brain fog, depression, and suppressed immunity all go hand-in-hand with excess yeast in men and should not be ignored as signals that the body’s yeast levels are imbalanced.

A Rapid Women’s Yeast Cleanse

  • A 7-day yeast cleanse targeted specifically to women’s vaginal yeast overgrowth helps to regulate vaginal pH to reduce further growth, break down excess yeast, and support an optimal balance of beneficial bacteria in the urogenital tract.ǂ
  • Enzymes in the cleanse actively target yeast cell walls to encourage yeast die-off.ǂ
  • Specific Lactobacillus probiotic strains (the most prevalent beneficial bacteria type in the vaginal area) promote a higher balance of beneficial urogenital bacteria to help crowd out yeast.ǂ

A woman’s sensitive vaginal environment is particularly prone to fluctuations in yeast levels due to stress, antibiotics, birth control medication use, a sugary diet, and other factors. Mitigating these contributing factors and cleansing the vaginal area of yeast to help restore a proper bacterial balance is recommended for continued health.
