OfflineHypoglycemia is another term for low blood sugar or low blood glucose, which refers to what happens when blood sugar levels drop beyond the normal, healthy range. Although it's often associated with diabetes, hypoglycemia may also be linked to other diseases, as well as medication use, hormone or enzyme deficiencies, or tumors (according to the National Institutes of Health).
Because fiber works in the body to help regulate blood sugar, we recommend using one of our natural fiber supplements to help you increase your daily fiber intake. (Organic Clear Fiber may be the best choice because it is flavor-free, calorie-free, and it dissolves instantly in beverages and food). Essentially, fiber helps to slow the absorption of glucose from foods during the digestive process so that it is absorbed into the bloodstream more gradually, which in turn helps to keep blood sugar levels on an even keel.
Note: Although the majority of experts recommend eating between 25 and 35 grams of fiber every day, most Americans consume less than half of that–somewhere between 10 and 12 grams daily.
