Lazy Bowel syndrome

Hi ggafas!
I don't know what your eating habits may be, but here are a few suggestions which have helped me.
Cut out starchy foods…..cut out fried foods…. cut out fast foods….. cut out junk foods, they are just empty calories and have no food value.
Increase the fish in your diet. (I eat fish 4 times per week, especially wild salmon) There are lots of ways to cook fish, and it cooks quickly.
Increase your intake of green vegetables, steamed al dente and mixed with a little extra virgin olive oil, or eaten raw, if you are able to tolerate them. Fresh fruit, and berries, especiallty blueberries. Mangoes, avocado and papaya are very good. Eat lots of fresh fruit salads, and drink water with your meals. Do not drink sodas of any kind…. especially those artificially sweetened with asparatame. If you drink coffee, reduce or limit the frequency and quantity. If you have coffee with your meals, have only one cup; still thirsty? drink water. Drink water during the day also. Reduce or remove sodium from your diet…. reduce refined sugars….
You want your digestive system to be well-lubricated; take liquid cod liver oil, or other liquid fish oil; the benefits are far-reaching. If you eat canned fish, read the label, make sure it is canned in oil. Reduce or elimninate consumption of red meat…
Continuous use of laxatives and/or other artificial means will cause your body to become dependent on these stimulii. Go for a long walk after your evening meal; it aids digestion, stimulates circulation and increases your "oxygen uptake". All of these are beneficial and helps your body to eliminate waste.
Above all, be patient. It won't happen overnight, but it will start to make it better for you.

I have lazy bowel syndrome too. I took laxatives for a long time and my body was working without them but now my body is acting up and not working. I have to change to different types of foods because my body gets too used to the same food all the time but now even changing to different foods everyday isn't working. :( I don't eat cheese or white flour and only eat meat about 2-3 times a week and only if its ground. Otherwise, I do my best to eat a good diet. I was in the ER the other day due to being constipated for 7 days and had to take magnesium citrate. I'm not sure what to take either that could work for me to eliminate and what would be the best diet for me to eat. Could anyone suggest a diet and fiber supplement I could take to help me? Would eating more of a blended diet help me? I also don't take in nutrition properly either since I had 3/4 of my colon taken out three years ago so I'm anemic and always super tired and run down. Fyi I take a liquid vitamin everyday as well.

OfflineIn addition to the HOPE formula… are you drinking enough water? Minimum 8 to 10 eight-ounce glasses a day. Many people are chronically dehydrated – which affects many organs in addition to the digestive tract.

OfflineHello,
The kind of constipation that you're referring to is quite common. We always recommend the HOPE formula as a good starting point to get on the road to digestive health. HOPE stands for High fiber, Omega Oils, Probiotics and Enzymes. These dietary components are essential each day to maintaining a healthy digestive system, but very few people consume enough through diet alone. We also just recently launched a new product called Ultimate Flora Constipation Relief which may be of interest to you.
Check out our main website and click on the learning center for more information regarding constipation and possible solutions.
Best of luck!

Hi,
I have been suffering from lazy bowles for yearssss, and nothing has worked. I have read the blogs but i do not see anything that relates to what I am currently going threw. I have absolutly no urge to use the bathroom, I can sit and nothing happens. I go for days w/o a bowel movment. I have to use enemas or laxatives. My body has grown acustom to them, I am not sure what I should use. Can someone recomend where what I should be using.I appreciate the feedback.
Thank you
